Remembering Joe Coppeto

The world lost a good man on September 13, 2010. Joe Coppeto was an amazing human being, friend, son, and brother. He was a kind man with an amazing heart. He loved to laugh and enjoyed people, music, and having good time.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing and my prayers are with his family and friends.

Some of you may know Joe as the drummer from my wedding. His band, Professor Shark, played for us and truly made our night one of a kind and more special than I can ever describe. Our wedding was Professor Shark's last performance together and is a truly bittersweet memory.

Joe passed away in his sleep and was later found to have passed from an enlarged heart. The world will not be the same without him and he will always be in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Joe. We love ya, man.

  1. I woke up two mornings ago thinking about whatever happened to Joe. I hadn't seen him since about 1995 in high school.

Our senior year, he had a purple Chevy pick-up truck with the best, ultra cool sound system and delivered for Wings Plus. Always funny, super intelligent, and he was the one who inspired me to collect 80's rock pins on my jean jacket.

I never told anyone that...but in about 7th grade or so...I thought Joe was the coolest guy because he had this jean jacket with black leather sleeves and pins from Poison, Guns N Roses, and the others; so I had my mom buy me a similar one and a bunch of pins to be like him.

Long, flowy hair and he ran the half mile in PE class faster than anyone.

So I kept telling myself, despite we were never pals or hung out, I wanted to look up Joe on facebook or something and see how he was.

I just searched his name, located this blog, and want to cry for your family's loss.

I am sorry it took him to pop into my head at random a few times before I looked for him. May God bless him forever. Corey Weiner
